About the Role

We’re looking for a detail-oriented and technically curious Automation Expert to streamline documentation-heavy processes in the freight-forwarding and logistics space. You will work with commercial invoices, bills of lading, shipment data, and billing inputs to build efficient, scalable automations using low-code/no-code tools and AI.

While prior CargoWise experience is a bonus, we are equally interested in candidates with backgrounds in logistics documentation, finance/invoicing, customs data, or operational workflows - anyone who is confident working with structured data and enjoys turning manual tasks into automated, predictable systems.


Key Responsibilities

  • Review and understand logistics documents such as commercial invoices, bills of lading, shipment details, and billing summaries

  • Translate these documents into structured data for system input or automation workflows

  • Build, test, and maintain automations using tools like n8n, Make, Zapier, and AI models

  • Assist in mapping invoice headers, line items, tariffs, duties, and related financial values

  • Work closely with operations teams to identify bottlenecks and convert them into automated flows

  • Create workflows that reduce manual data entry and improve documentation accuracy

  • Integrate multiple systems and APIs (CRMs, databases, freight tools, email pipelines, etc.)

  • Ensure automations follow compliance, data accuracy, and audit requirements

  • Maintain clear documentation of processes, prompts, and workflow logic


Requirements

  • 1 - 3 years of experience in automation, business operations, logistics operations, freight documentation, finance ops, or similar fields

  • Experience handling structured documents (invoices, BLs, purchase orders, customs forms, etc.)

  • Familiarity with tools like n8n, Make, Zapier, or similar workflow builders

  • Understanding of APIs, webhooks, and data mapping

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset

  • Ability to interpret documents with multiple formats, currencies, units, and fields

    Bonus:

  • Experience with CargoWise or any logistics management software

  • Exposure to customs/tariff codes, freight billing, landed costing, or logistics finance

  • Basic scripting knowledge (Python, JS, or TypeScript)
