Rosetta Languages Inc. – Terms & Conditions for Freelance Applicants

By applying to join Rosetta Languages Inc. (“Rosetta”) as a freelance linguist (interpreter, translator, or other language service provider), you agree to the following terms and conditions:

1. Independent Contractor Status

• You understand that you are applying as an independent contractor, not as an employee of Rosetta.

• You are responsible for your own taxes, insurance, and legal compliance within your country or jurisdiction.

2. Accuracy of Application

• All information you provide in your application must be truthful, current, and complete.

• You agree to notify Rosetta of any changes in your language qualifications, contact information, or availability.

3. Confidentiality

• You agree to maintain strict confidentiality for all materials, conversations, or client data you are exposed to while working with Rosetta.

• This obligation continues indefinitely even after your work with Rosetta ends.

4. Assignment Terms

• Each assignment will be offered on a case-by-case basis. You are free to accept or decline based on your availability.

• Acceptance of an assignment constitutes a binding commitment to deliver the work as agreed (on time, in the agreed format, and to the required quality).

• You must notify us immediately if anything prevents you from fulfilling an accepted assignment.

5. Intellectual Property

• All work products (translations, notes, interpretations, glossaries) created while working with Rosetta are the exclusive property of the client and/or Rosetta Languages Inc.

• You may not reuse or share this work without written permission.

6. Professional Standards

• You agree to maintain the highest standards of accuracy, professionalism, and neutrality.

• For interpreters: You will faithfully interpret everything stated, without omission or personal commentary.

• For translators: You will strive for faithful, fluent, and culturally appropriate renderings.

7. Payment Terms

• You will be compensated for each assignment per the agreed-upon rate and timeline.

• Payment is made via ACH bank transfer through Melio, typically within 15 business days of assignment completion, barring delays from missing information or tax documentation.

8. Compliance & Conduct

• You agree not to engage in any conduct that could damage the reputation of Rosetta or violate client-specific policies.

• You agree to honor all client-specific preferences, restrictions, and codes of conduct, which will be communicated in advance.

9. Non-Disclosure & Non-Solicitation

• You may not contact Rosetta’s clients directly for future work without written permission.

• You agree not to disclose any proprietary information about Rosetta’s internal systems, clients, or pricing.

10. Right to Deactivate Profile

• Rosetta reserves the right to pause or deactivate your profile at any time based on service quality, responsiveness, policy violations, or client feedback.

• Deactivation does not affect payment for past completed work.

11. Optional Recordings

• For virtual interpretation: Some assignments may involve recorded meetings. You will be informed in advance and may opt out.

12. Acceptance

By submitting your application, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these terms.
