This is a hybrid role based in New York, USA. Candidates must already be based in the United States and either reside within commuting distance of New York or be willing to relocate.

As part of this next phase of growth, our client is seeking a Cyber Security Lead to help strengthen and mature the organisation's security posture across infrastructure, applications, cloud environments, operational processes and third-party relationships.
This is not a traditional corporate security role.
They are not simply looking for candidates with impressive company names on their CVs. Key Responsibilities
- Lead cybersecurity initiatives across infrastructure, applications and operational environments
- Support the development and execution of the organisation's security roadmap
- Identify, assess and prioritise security risks across systems, vendors and business processes
- Strengthen cloud security controls and security monitoring capabilities
- Review and improve identity and access management processes
- Partner with engineering teams to promote secure software development practices
- Support vulnerability management, penetration testing and remediation activities
- Contribute to incident response planning and security investigations
- Support security governance, compliance and risk management initiatives
- Review third-party vendors, integrations and technology partners from a security perspective
- Promote a culture of security awareness and continuous improvement
Ideal Candidate Profile
- 5+ years of experience within Cyber Security, Security Engineering, Cloud Security or Application Security
- Strong understanding of AWS and cloud security principles
- Experience with IAM, SSO, MFA and privileged access management
- Experience securing customer-facing platforms and production environments
- Strong understanding of application security, API security and secure software development practices
- Experience with vulnerability management and security testing programmes
- Familiarity with incident response, monitoring and security operations
- Experience working within fintech, payments, banking, crypto, lending or regulated financial services environments
- Strong communication and stakeholder management capabilities
- Proven ability to operate effectively within fast-moving startup or scale-up environments
- Demonstrated ownership mentality with a track record of delivering results
