About Rosie's People

Rosie's People is an award-winning HR/People Operations and organisational consultancy supporting founders, leadership teams and growing organisations across the UK and internationally.

We provide strategic People advisory, organisational consulting, operational HR support, leadership and management development, talent solutions and executive recruitment.

As our international client portfolio continues to grow, we are expanding our network of experienced independent HR and People consultants across the United States.

We are particularly interested in consultants who can support clients in and around New York City, Washington DC and San Francisco, although applications from experienced consultants elsewhere in the US are also welcome.

HOW TO APPLY

Within your cover letter, please answer the following six mandatory questions.

1. Location, Right to Work & Travel
Where are you currently based? Please confirm that you have the legal right to work as an independent consultant in the United States without sponsorship, and state which US cities/states you could reasonably support in person.

2. HR Experience & Employment Practice
How many years of substantive HR/People experience do you have? Please list the US states in which you have practical HR/employment experience and briefly describe one complex employee relations or People matter that you personally managed and the outcome.

3. Qualifications & Specialist Experience
Please list your relevant HR/People qualifications or certifications, including SHRM, HRCI or equivalent where applicable. Please also identify any specialist experience you have, for example organisational design, M&A/integration, restructuring, performance management, HR compliance, international HR, culture or leadership development.

4. Consultancy & International Working
Please briefly describe your experience working independently with senior stakeholders and/or clients. Include any experience supporting international, geographically distributed or cross-cultural teams and how you manage communication, ownership and escalation when operating as part of a wider consultancy or client team.

5. Availability & Consultancy Rates
What capacity could you typically make available for project work, and how quickly could you mobilise if selected for an assignment? Please provide your expected hourly and full-day consultancy rates in USD, excluding applicable taxes.

6. AI, HR Systems & Technology
Please list the AI tools, HR systems and productivity software you have used professionally. Next to each, rate your competency as:

About the Opportunity

Successful applicants may be added to Rosie's People's approved consultant network and considered for client assignments as requirements arise.

Assignments may include:

  • Day-to-day and strategic HR support
  • Employee relations and manager advisory
  • Performance management
  • HR policies, processes and compliance
  • Organisational design and change
  • M&A and post-acquisition integration
  • Workforce planning and restructuring
  • Recruitment, onboarding and offboarding
  • HR audits and People-practice reviews
  • Supporting international and distributed workforces
  • Manager capability and organisational-development projects

Whilst you will manage your day-to-day workload independently, assignments will form part of Rosie's People's managed consultancy service and operate within agreed client scope, reporting, escalation and quality standards.

Our Ideal Consultant

We're looking for people who:

  • Have at least five years' substantive HR/People experience
  • Have strong practical knowledge of employment requirements applicable to the jurisdictions they support
  • Can confidently manage employee relations matters
  • Communicate credibly with managers, executives and founders
  • Are commercially minded, pragmatic and solutions-focused
  • Can enter a client environment and add value quickly
  • Understand the difference between independence and disappearing
  • Know when to take ownership, collaborate and escalate
  • Are comfortable with modern HR systems, AI tools and collaborative technology
  • Can represent the Rosie's People brand professionally

Relevant SHRM, HRCI or equivalent professional qualifications are desirable, although substantial practical experience will also be considered.
