About the Opportunity

Our client is a leading player in the construction materials and chemicals sector, known for delivering innovative solutions across large-scale infrastructure and building projects. With a commitment to quality, technical excellence, and operational efficiency, they are seeking an experienced leader to oversee their factory's administrative and people operations in Nigeria.

This full-time role is only open to candidates currently based in Lagos, Nigeria, or willing to relocate. It requires someone with a strong personality, exceptional leadership skills, and experience in the manufacturing sector,  ideally with exposure to both factory operations and human resources.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the administration and management of all factory personnel, including training, performance tracking, and employee engagement.
  • Drive a culture of safety, accountability, and high performance across all departments.
  • Ensure compliance with labour laws, HR policies, and internal standards.
  • Partner with leadership to set and monitor performance objectives for factory staff.
  • Oversee the efficient operation of the factory, ensuring productivity, safety, and cost-efficiency targets are met.
  • Develop and manage production plans and schedules in alignment with business goals.
  • Coordinate with sales, procurement, and marketing teams to align factory output with market demand.
  • Manage relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure quality inputs and timely deliveries.
  • Negotiate contracts and optimise procurement processes to ensure value for money.
  • Track vendor performance and escalate issues where necessary.
  • Supervise logistics operations including inbound raw materials, WIP (work-in-progress), and outbound finished goods.
  • Maintain optimal stock levels and minimise waste through effective inventory planning and control.
  • Drive continuous improvements in warehousing, delivery processes, and cost reduction strategies.
  • Ensure full compliance with Nigerian regulatory agencies, including SON, NAFDAC, and MAN.
  • Coordinate audits, certifications, and inspections, maintaining documentation and operational readiness.
  • Liaise with relevant departments to stay ahead of regulatory changes and requirements.
  • Prepare and deliver reports on production performance, inventory, workforce KPIs, and regulatory status.
  • Use data to identify areas for operational improvement and cost optimisation.
  • Develop dashboards and visual tools for internal performance reviews.


Ideal Candidate Profile

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5-10 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial production setting, with exposure to both operations and HR.
  • Strong organisational and multitasking skills with high attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated leadership (or deputy leadership) in managing factory teams across admin, technical, and support functions.
  • Comfortable with change and able to adapt quickly in high-pressure environments.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Familiarity with Nigerian regulatory frameworks relevant to manufacturing is essential.
