About the Opportunity

Our client is a leading player in the coatings and construction materials industry, actively expanding across West Africa. As part of their growth in the projects segment, they are seeking a Sales Executive or Senior Sales Executive to drive business development for architectural (decorative) coatings within large-scale residential, commercial, and institutional developments.

This is a fantastic opportunity for candidates with experience in paint, building materials, or construction sales who are passionate about project-based relationship management and technical selling. The role will involve regular travel to client sites and partner offices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, engage, and manage relationships with architects, interior designers, consultants, real estate developers, contractors, and project stakeholders.
  • Promote and sell architectural paints for residential, commercial, and institutional projects.
  • Track new project opportunities and update internal teams on project timelines and progress.
  • Conduct product presentations, demonstrations, and technical consultations with clients.
  • Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and commercial agreements in line with internal policies.
  • Coordinate with logistics and technical teams to ensure timely delivery and application support.
  • Monitor competitor activity and changing market conditions; provide regular intelligence reports.
  • Support customer satisfaction and grievance resolution in coordination with internal teams.
  • Build and maintain CRM data and accurate key account profiles.
  • Meet assigned sales targets by product, region, and account.
  • Contribute to business growth planning and budgeting cycles.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure customer needs are fulfilled.
  • Attend events, seminars, and meetings to promote products and strengthen market presence.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • A degree in Business, Marketing, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
  • Experience of 2 to 5 years in architectural coatings or construction/building materials sales.
  • Strong network within the project, real estate, or architectural ecosystem.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong project tracking and technical sales capabilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM tools.
  • Results-driven with excellent time management and prioritisation skills.
  • Willingness to travel regularly within Nigeria for meetings and site visits.
