Fractional Credit & Risk Lead (6–8 Hours per Week) – FinTech / Remote
PLEASE READ THE FULL JOB DESCRIPTION BEFORE APPLYING
Location: Remote
Working Pattern: Fractional – approximately 6–8 hours per week
Environment: Early-Stage FinTech / Financial Services
About the Opportunity
Our client is an early-stage FinTech business developing technology designed to support businesses operating within an increasingly digital and international financial environment.
As the organisation develops its product, governance and specialist leadership capability, it is looking for an experienced Fractional Credit & Risk Lead.
The successful candidate will bring strong practical credit expertise and help shape how credit assessment and risk considerations are translated into scalable processes, decision frameworks and technology.
This is not a traditional credit-management position within an established financial institution.
You will be joining an early-stage organisation where frameworks and processes are still developing and where specialist expertise needs to be translated into practical business and product requirements.
Further details regarding the engagement and participation structure will be discussed directly with candidates progressing through the process.
Application – Mandatory Qualifying Questions
Please submit your CV together with a cover letter. Within your cover letter, you must answer each of the mandatory qualifying questions below.
- What experience do you have within credit risk, credit assessment, lending or another directly relevant financial-services environment?
- Please describe a credit-risk, credit-assessment or decisioning framework/model that you personally designed, materially developed or owned. What inputs were used, what decisions did it support and what was your personal contribution?
- What experience do you have assessing SME or business creditworthiness?
- What experience do you have using financial, transactional, behavioural or alternative data within credit assessment or risk decisioning?
- Have you worked with Product, Data or Engineering teams to translate credit or risk expertise into technology, models, systems or product requirements? Please provide an example.
- Do you have experience within FinTech, trade finance, payments, lending, banking, SME finance or cross-border financial services? Please explain.
- What experience do you have working within an early-stage, high-growth or resource-conscious environment?
- This opportunity requires approximately 6–8 hours per week. Can you consistently commit to this level of involvement alongside your other professional commitments?
These questions are mandatory and form part of our initial assessment process. Applications that do not provide a clear answer to every mandatory qualifying question will be automatically disqualified and will not be considered further in the recruitment process.
