Live-in Caregiver

We are currently recruiting a professional carer to provide night-time care for an elderly couple living in their own modern home in Midleton, County Cork.

This is a well-supported, long-term placement with HSE and private care already in place during the day, making this an organised and manageable role for an experienced carer.

Client Overview

• Elderly couple in their late 80s and early 90s

• Both are mobile (one uses a walking frame)

• One client has mild heart failure

• One client has mild short-term memory impairment

• Care needs are low to moderate, with the main requirement being night-time supervision to reduce fall risk

Location

• Walking distance to train station and local amenities

• Easy access to shops and pharmacy

• Quiet residential area

Duties & Responsibilities

• Night-time supervision and reassurance

• Assistance with toileting and continence care

• Medication prompting

• Bathing, dressing, and personal care

• Meal preparation and feeding support

• Light household duties (laundry, bed changing, cleaning common areas)

• Grocery shopping and running errands

• Companionship and emotional support

Working Pattern & Pay

• 6 days per week (flexible day off)

• 42–48 hours per week

• €15 per hour

• Sunday rate: +10%

• Overtime may be available

Carer Requirements

• Female carer required

• Minimum 1–2 years professional care experience

• Smoking permitted outside only

• Driving not required

Accommodation

• Private bedroom provided for the carer

• Furnished with a double bed, wardrobe, and storage

Support

Cover on days off is provided by HSE and private carers, ensuring continuity of care.
