Job Description
Our client, a top regional law firm, is seeking a Marketing & Business Development Analyst to join its Marketing Department in New Jersey. This role reports directly to the Chief Marketing & Business Development Officer and partners closely with attorneys, practice groups, and firm leadership to support growth initiatives through market intelligence, analytics, and strategic execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct market research, competitive intelligence, and opportunity analysis to support practice group and industry team strategies.
- Prepare detailed intelligence reports on clients, prospects, industries, and market trends to inform business development efforts.
- Track and report on key legal market, industry, and competitor trends.
- Support marketing and business development initiatives with data-driven insights using internal and external research tools.
- Lead data input and quality control for the firms CRM and experience databases; develop and maintain systematic processes for accurate matter and experience reporting.
- Maintain and enhance experience databases and internal resources to support efficient pitch and proposal development.
- Assist in coordinating and preparing RFP responses, proposals, and presentations aligned with firm positioning and practice priorities.
- Collaborate with marketing team members to refine pitch materials and improve processes for greater efficiency and impact.
- Track, analyze, and report on pitch and proposal outcomes to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
- Develop and update marketing collateral to promote the firm and its practices, ensuring consistency with brand standards.
- Prepare high-quality submissions for legal rankings and awards, coordinating with external PR agencies as needed.
- Work directly with attorneys and practice group leaders to execute business development initiatives.
- Provide proactive recommendations for new business opportunities and targeted outreach strategies based on research and analytics.
- Leverage the firm's CRM system to track relationships, outreach, and engagement activity.
- Provide coverage during peak periods or team absences to ensure continuity and timely delivery.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor's degree with 3–5 years of experience in marketing, business development, research, or analytics.
- Prior experience in a professional services environment (law firm, accounting, or consulting) REQUIRED.
- Strong organizational, administrative, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent writing, proofreading, and editing abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
- Familiarity with Nexl, Foundations, Bloomberg Law, and Dunn & Bradstreet is a plus.
- Willingness to travel between offices on occasion.
