Summary of Job Purpose and Function
The Finance Business Partner role is a key strategic and operational position within the Village Vets finance team, holding overarching responsibility for driving financial performance and supporting strategic decision-making. This exciting role reports directly to the Financial Controller and collaborates closely with cross-functional managers and teams. The primary focus is to ensure accurate reporting and forecasting, enhance business performance, increase revenue, and reduce debt across the organisation.
As a Finance Business Partner, you will engage with team members at various levels, serving as a vital ambassador for Village Vets. You will exemplify leadership through a positive attitude and a growth mindset, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence. Your ability to build strong relationships and communicate effectively will be crucial in driving the financial health and strategic goals of the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide ad-hoc analysis, financial modelling, and consolidation for the COO, CEO, and CCO as required.
- Deliver insightful financial analysis and commentary on weekly and monthly performance to the C-Suite.
- Assist in the development and implementation of best financial practices, ensuring alignment with strategic goals
- Ensure timely completion of key deliverables for financial close, forecast reviews, and annual operating plans.
- Collaborate with the Finance Team on month-end reporting and forecasting, ensuring accuracy and relevance.
- Design and implement standardised financial reporting to streamline processes and enhance operational efficiency.
- Assist in the preparation and validation of annual budgets and forecasts.
Operational Efficiency:
- Develop and manage dashboards and reporting packs that are accurate and up to date.
- Support the COO and operations managers in challenging and improving business performance.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, particularly in financial reporting and control.
- In-depth understanding of multiple P&Ls and balance sheet reporting, including KPI metrics and the ability to discuss with non-financial team members.
- Provide financial analysis and support to business unit management to drive informed decision-making.

Education, experience and skills:
Professional/ Technical Qualification
- Bachelor's Degree or Level 9 Business Qualification Financial Qualification (qualified or part qualified accountant, preferably CIMA)
Further qualification in Finance or HR
Experience & Job Knowledge
- Proven analytical, influencing and problem-solving skills combined with the ability to identify risks and impacts possible solutions and corrective
- Financial Analysis and Modelling techniques and ability to analyse and interpret financial data
- Expertise in financial reporting standards and practices.
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance and internal controls.
- Experience within the Veterinary/ Human Health industries

- Ability to present complex financial information clearly and concisely to stakeholders at all levels.
- Excellent time management with an ability to deliver to deadlines and within budget.

- Confident and competent decision-making skills
- Advanced proficiency in financial software and tools, such as Excel and financial reporting systems.
- Experience with data visualisation tools like PowerBI.
