Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Credit Controller to join our dynamic finance team. Reporting directly to the Credit Control Manager, you will be responsible for managing and optimising the company's credit control processes. Your role will involve ensuring timely collection of outstanding debts, minimising financial risk, and contributing to the overall financial stability of the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Proactively manage and reduce aged debts by ensuring prompt collection of outstanding payments through regular customer communication.
- Strictly enforce the company's credit policies, ensuring customers adhere to agreed payment terms without exception.
- Evaluate the creditworthiness of new and existing customers by processing credit applications and setting up accounts with appropriate credit limits.
- Prepare and present monthly reports on the status of the debtors ledger, highlighting key risk areas and proposed actions to the Credit Control Manager.
- Maintain strong relationships with customers, addressing queries and resolving issues promptly to ensure smooth credit transactions.
- Accurately record and allocate customer payments to the appropriate accounts, ensuring that the debtor's ledger is up to date.
- Work closely with customers and internal teams to resolve payment disputes and discrepancies efficiently.
- Regularly review accounts to identify potential risks and take pre-emptive action to prevent bad debts.
- : Manage the credit insurance process, including submitting claims and maintaining accurate records of all insured accounts.
- Maintain detailed records of all credit control activities and ensure compliance with company procedures.
Qualifications & Skills:
- 2-4 years of proven experience in a Credit Control or Accounts Receivable role, preferably within a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and familiarity with financial management software.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate effectively.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a cross-functional team.
- A strong commitment to customer service excellence, with a proactive approach to managing customer relationships.
- Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
