Job Title: Estimator - Passive Fire Protection
Location: Dublin (Hybrid / site visits as needed)

Company Overview: Our Client are one of Irelands leading passive fire protection contractors, trusted by Tier 1 main contractors, developers, and public bodies. With a growing portfolio of commercial, healthcare, data centre, and residential projects, they are now seeking a high-performing Estimator to join their expanding team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in securing and shaping landmark projects across Ireland.
Job Summary:
As Estimator, you will take full ownership of the pre-construction process for PFP packages from reviewing tender documentation to producing accurate cost plans and securing work through competitive and negotiated bids. You'll work closely with the commercial director, project managers, and clients to ensure bids are competitive, clear, and commercially viable. You will also integrate digital tools like OneTrace and modern firestopping estimation techniques to ensure operational excellence. Note: The role requires regular travel to sites across Ireland.
Key Responsibilities:
· Review tender documentation, drawings, specifications, and scopes.
· Perform detailed takeoffs (firestopping, cavity barriers, intumescent paint, structural fireproofing).
· Prepare BOQs, cost plans, and detailed pricing submissions.
· Liaise with suppliers for rates, system compatibility, and lead times.
· Develop value engineering options and propose innovative solutions.
· Attend pre- and post-tender meetings with clients and design teams.
· Manage the tender clarification and RFI process.
· Support project handovers with clear documentation and log tracking.
· Integrate digital firestopping logs (e.g. OneTrace) in cost modelling.
· Maintain and refine labour and material rate libraries.
Essential Skills & Experience:
· 3-5 year's experience estimating in passive fire protection, drylining, or specialist subcontracting.
· Strong knowledge of firestopping systems, materials, and compliance (EN standards, test data).
· Proven track record in producing accurate, winning tenders.
· Experience using estimation software (e.g. Bluebeam, Excel, Planswift).
· Commercially astute with strong attention to detail.
· Full clean drivers licence (mandatory).
· Self-motivated, deadline-driven, and able to manage multiple bids simultaneously.
Desirable:
· Experience with OneTrace or similar digital penetration log platforms
· Familiarity with FIRAS/IFC schemes
· Background in QS, contracting, or site-based roles is a plus
