Compensation: $148,000$177,000/year, based on experience
Start Date: Immediate | Includes 30 Days of Housing + Relocation Bonus
Rural Staffing Services (RSS) is actively recruiting a Director of Pharmacy who is ready to lead with purpose, heart, and vision. This is a mission-driven hospital in one of Alaska's most breathtaking and remote coastal communities
This role can be filled on an interim, interim-to-perm, or permanent basis, depending on your availability and long-term goals. Either way, you'll be stepping into a leadership position where your experience will directly impact a hospital and community that truly values exceptional care.
As Director of Pharmacy, you'll oversee the delivery of safe, effective, and efficient pharmaceutical services. You'll lead operations, maintain regulatory compliance, support the hospital's 340B program, and implement strategic initiatives that support both clinical excellence and patient-centered care.
Core Responsibilities Include:

Supervising and mentoring pharmacy staff

Ensuring compliance with HIPAA, Joint Commission, and all state/federal regulations

Managing and optimizing the 340B Drug Pricing Program

Leading medication safety and quality improvement initiatives

Collaborating across departments to align pharmacy operations with patient care goals

Contributing to fiscal responsibility and strategic planning
What Were Looking For:

Graduation from a College of Pharmacy accredited by the ACPE

At least five (5) years of recent pharmacist experience

Two (2) years of pharmacy leadership or management preferred

Active Alaska Pharmacist License (or ability to obtain)

Current BLS and ACLS certifications
