Responsibilities:

• Manage and maintain accurate patient health records in accordance with federal, state, and facility guidelines.

• Code medical diagnoses and procedures according to the latest coding standards (ICD-10, CPT, etc.).

• Review and ensure the accuracy and completeness of medical records for reimbursement and compliance.

• Work with healthcare providers and other staff to resolve documentation issues.

• Ensure adherence to HIPAA regulations and other relevant confidentiality and privacy laws.

• Assist in training and mentoring staff on proper documentation and coding practices.

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding practices, regulations, and technology.

Qualifications:

• Certification in Health Information Management (RHIA, RHIT, or similar) and/or Certified Professional Coder (CPC, CCS, or equivalent).

• Experience in coding (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS) and managing medical records.

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with healthcare teams.

• A passion for ensuring quality documentation and patient confidentiality in a rural healthcare setting.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
