East Adams Rural Healthcare is looking for an experienced Chief Financial Officer to join its leadership team in Ritzville, Washington.

What You Will Do

Reporting directly to the CEO and serving as a member of the District Leadership Team, the CFO will provide both strategic and hands-on financial leadership across the organization.

The CFO will oversee financial operations including:

• Accounting and financial reporting
• Budgeting and long-range financial planning
• Revenue cycle oversight
• Billing
• Payroll and accounts payable
• Treasury functions
• Payer contracting and contract review
• Capital planning, RFPs, and contract negotiations
• Financial regulatory and compliance requirements
• Patient Navigator and Care Coordination teams
• Departmental budgeting and expense management
• Audits, tax-related matters, and financial controls

This leader will work closely with the CEO, CNO, COO, department leaders, medical staff, and Board of Directors to ensure the organization remains financially strong while continuing to meet the needs of the community.

This Role Goes Beyond Accounting

East Adams is looking for a CFO who can translate financial information into decisions.

Someone who can sit with department leaders and help them understand the story behind the numbers.

Someone who can identify opportunities, ask good questions, strengthen revenue, control unnecessary costs, evaluate new services, and help leadership plan responsibly for the future.

You will regularly interact with and present to the Board of Directors, participate in operational and administrative leadership meetings, and provide financial guidance throughout the organization.

The CFO will also play an important role in evaluating new programs and services, negotiating contracts, identifying opportunities for performance improvement, and helping East Adams continue building a sustainable future for rural healthcare in the region.

Who We Are Looking For

The strongest candidate will bring significant financial leadership experience specifically within a Critical Access Hospital or small rural hospital environment.

East Adams is seeking someone with:

• Previous CFO-level or equivalent leadership experience in a Critical Access Hospital
• At least five years of progressive healthcare financial or accounting management experience
• Strong knowledge of Critical Access Hospital finance
• Demonstrated revenue cycle experience with a track record of improvement and success
• Experience in a nonprofit healthcare environment
• Experience working directly with executive leadership and governing boards
• Strong budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and strategic planning skills
• Understanding of payer contracting and healthcare reimbursement
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• The ability to build relationships across departments and explain complex financial matters clearly

A master's degree and CPA designation are preferred.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary: $150,000 to $180,000 depending on experience
