About the job Procurement Category Manager
We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Procurement Category Manager to lead sourcing initiatives and manage key spend categories in a fully remote environment. In this role, you will be responsible for developing category strategies, optimizing supplier performance, and driving cost efficiencies while ensuring quality, compliance, and risk mitigation.
The ideal candidate has strong experience in procurement, supplier management, contract negotiation, and data-driven decision-making, with the ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and execute category strategies aligned with business objectives
* Manage end-to-end procurement lifecycle including sourcing, negotiation, and contracting
* Analyze spend data to identify cost-saving opportunities and efficiency improvements
* Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors
* Lead supplier selection, evaluation, and performance management processes
* Negotiate pricing, contracts, and service-level agreements (SLAs)
* Ensure compliance with procurement policies, regulatory requirements, and risk standards
* Collaborate with internal stakeholders (finance, operations, legal, and supply chain teams)
* Monitor market trends, supplier risks, and industry developments
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives within procurement processes
Required Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, or related field
* 5+ years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or category management
* Proven track record of managing spend categories and delivering cost savings
* Strong negotiation and contract management skills
* Proficiency in procurement tools, ERP systems, and data analysis (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Excel)
* Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
* Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
* Ability to work independently in a remote environment
* Must be legally authorized to work in the United States (valid U.S. work permit required)
Preferred Qualifications
* Professional certifications such as CPSM, CIPS, or equivalent
* Experience in strategic sourcing and global supplier management
* Familiarity with risk management and supplier compliance frameworks
* Experience working in a remote or distributed team environment
