About the job Research Scientist
The Research Scientist is responsible for designing and conducting research initiatives to advance knowledge, develop innovative solutions, and support product or business development. This role applies scientific methods, data analysis, and experimental design to solve complex problems across domains such as technology, healthcare, engineering, or applied sciences.
The Research Scientist collaborates with cross-functional teams including engineering, product, analytics, and leadership to translate research findings into practical applications in a fully remote environment.
This is a fully remote position; however, applicants must currently reside in the United States and be legally authorized to work in the U.S. Applications from individuals residing outside the United States will not be considered.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and execute research studies, experiments, and analytical models
- Conduct literature reviews and stay current with advancements in relevant fields
- Collect, process, and analyze complex datasets
- Develop algorithms, models, or prototypes based on research findings
- Collaborate with engineers, product teams, and stakeholders to implement solutions
- Document methodologies, results, and insights in technical reports or publications
- Present findings to internal teams and external audiences as needed
- Contribute to patents, publications, or product innovation initiatives
- Ensure research integrity, reproducibility, and compliance with standards
- Identify new research opportunities aligned with organizational goals
Required Qualifications
- PhD or Master's degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Data Science, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Engineering, or Applied Mathematics
- 3–7 years of experience in research, scientific analysis, or applied R&D
- Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, R, MATLAB, or C++
- Experience with statistical analysis, experimental design, and data modeling
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage research projects in a remote environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Scikit-learn
- Familiarity with big data tools such as Apache Spark or Hadoop
- Experience publishing peer-reviewed research or filing patents
- Knowledge of cloud computing platforms such as Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform, or Microsoft Azure
- Experience working in interdisciplinary or industry research environments
