Health & Safety Director
About the job Health & Safety Director
Our client is seeking a highly experienced Health & Safety Director to join their team and ensure the safety and well-being of our employees and the communities they work in. As the Health & Safety Director, you will be responsible for developing and implementing health and safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards. You will work closely with the project managers, contractors, and other stakeholders to identify potential hazards and develop strategies to mitigate risks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement health and safety policies and procedures in accordance with industry standards and regulations
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety protocols
- Collaborate with project managers to develop safety plans for each project and ensure they are properly implemented
- Provide training and education to employees on safety procedures and best practices
- Conduct investigations and root cause analysis of incidents and accidents, and develop strategies to prevent similar occurrences in the future
- Monitor and report on safety performance metrics to senior management
- Stay up to date with industry developments and regulations related to health and safety and make recommendations for improvement as needed
- Develop emergency response plans and ensure all employees are trained and prepared to respond to emergencies
- Liaise with regulatory bodies and participate in safety audits and inspections
- Manage and maintain safety records and documentation
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in health and safety management, preferably in the renewable or electrical sectors
- Strong knowledge of relevant safety regulations and standards
- Experience in developing and implementing safety policies and procedures
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong leadership and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Willingness to travel to project sites as needed
