You will join as the inaugural Front-End Engineer and shape the definition of front-end excellence while laying the groundwork for the future of their products. Current situation

Our client is looking to replace a website and will be working on multiple interlinked applications. We need the Front-End Developer to take an enterprise view rather than single application view. The Front-End Developer will be employee 3 in the tech team so will get ample opportunities to learn e.g. databases, AWS tooling, coding languages. This is a young company with vast scope. We would ideally like someone to have design capability, understand wireframes but the development of the UI is their driver.

In the first few weeks we would expect the Front-End Developer to be in the office 4 days a week and this we would expect this to lessen to a requirement of 2 days a week.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate to design, develop, and implement new features and enhancements for our platform.
• Develop and maintain high-quality, reusable, and scalable React components.
• Implement UI/UX for various types of users.
• Ensuring thorough testing, from unit to functional.
• Work with the Lead Developer and CTO to select the design system.
• Translate business requirements into technical specifications and ensure the successful implementation of features.
• Create front-end implementations from user stories and requirements, contributing to the overall design and functionality of the system.
• Optimise components for maximum performance across a diverse range of web-capable devices and browsers.
• Stay updated on advancements in front-end technologies and continuously improve front-end development practices.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in React.
• Familiarity with modern front-end build pipelines, meta-framework, and tools.
• Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.

Additional Skills (Desirable):

• Experience with AWS or similar cloud platforms.
• Previous involvement in defining and selecting frameworks and tooling.
• Experience with Flutter or React Native.
• Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work in a dynamic, start-up environment.
• Proactive, self-starter mentality with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting.

• Salary between £50,000 - £70,000 per annum (flexible for the right person)
