Business Analyst

Title: Business Analyst

Location: Ideally based within commuting distance of Cardiff.

Additional: Likely UK travel once every 2 months

Hours: Monday Friday, 09:00-17:30 (with flexibility).

Report into: Programme Lead

The Business Analyst will provide analysis for technology and business led projects. The Business Analyst will be required to understand the nature of business requirements, liaise with business stakeholders, service delivery, technical leads and with external suppliers where needed.

T the Business Analyst will be working directly with Delivery Managers, Scrum Masters and outsourcers and could sometimes be working with other BAs OR could be tasked with be the sole BA. You will be near to your stakeholders, have a huge variety of projects from EV charging to heat pumps, to solar panels to smart meters to dashboard data driven projects. Working in a team of 5 there will be ample opportunities to learn, to deliver meaningful projects and progress to a Senior in time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Translating business need into clearly specified functional and non-functional requirements (Epics, Features and User Stories with acceptance criteria).
  • Document as-is and to-be business processes, use case diagrams and class diagrams using recognised tools.
  • Support the launch of new products and services and assist in the implementation of the documented required changes.
  • Create and manage appropriate requirements documentation, describing system changes required to support business change and liaise with Product Owners and Developers to ensure changes are delivered as required.
  • Support testing to ensure system changes deliver expected results.
  • Liaise with Scrum Team and technical architects/consultants to ensure appropriate solutions are designed to meet business requirements and to ensure issues raised during throughout the project are resolved.
  • Investigate issues raised from live systems and work with business units and Scrum Teams to ensure a satisfactory resolution.
  • Investigates, defines, and resolves complex issues.

Experience needed

  • Demonstratable experience in a Business Analyst role.
  • Experience of working in an Agile Scrum driven environment.
  • Experience of specifying functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Experience in delivering user stories and elicit user experience requirements in complex situations.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • The ability to present complex information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • The ability to facilitate input from stakeholders, providing constructive challenge and enable effective prioritisation of requirements.
  • The confidence to deal with problems and issues, manage resolutions, correct actions, as well as the collection and dissemination of relevant information.

Education/Qualifications

  • Demonstrable experience in a Business Analyst role
  • Experience with Agile Scrum methodology.
  • Recognised Business Analysis qualification (or working towards).
