Title: Senior Power BI Analyst

Location: Hereford (100% fully remote ok) 

Additional: Minimum of 4 site visits to Hereford, South Wales per year.

Report into: BI Team Leader

The Senior Power BI Analyst will be working closely with the Power BI community to understand ongoing and future reporting needs and in the development of reports/dashboards.

The role of Senior Power BI Analyst is responsible for:

  • Working with key stakeholders to understand the BI requirements of the departments, prioritise those requirements based on key metrics, assess resources/controls and develop business cases.
  • Deciding the appropriate strategy, to assess a number of days of work, look at current workload against demand and assess the need to use 3rd party resources.
  • Transforming raw data into meaningful insights by developing interactive and user-friendly dashboards and reports.
  • Maintaining and supporting the existing IT-managed reporting suite within Power BI including reports, dashboards, datasets and source data (T-SQL).
  • Maintaining appropriate upgrade cycles of the Power BI application and presenting and new features available to the application to the Power BI community.
  • Provide training to super users in the use of Power BI.

Experience needed

  • Experience in developing Power BI reports for several different business areas
  • Strong communication skills and experience working with key business customers/stakeholders.
  • Working knowledge of complex DAX statements.
  • Strong understanding of the different reporting visual options and appropriate use
  • Experience in Power BI data modelling using Power Query.
  • Experience in creating Power BI data sources (SQL and Flat File).
  • A passion for design to deliver a higher level of reporting suites.

Desirable

  • Power BI technical qualification
  • Prince 2 certification
  • ITIL awareness
  • Worked in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience in building Sharepoint native workflows

Remuneration

  • Permanent contract
  • Annual Bonus dependent on company performance. Pays up to 15%.
