Our client a local Cardiff-based business has been recognised for its significant growth and expanding its services into international markets with many of the leading financial institutions as clients. This award-winning, high-growth/high-performance company are currently looking to hire a DevOps Engineer to deploy infrastructure and maintain and improve IaaS.

Key Responsibilities 

• Deploying infrastructure in both AWS and Azure
• Maintaining, implementing and improving CI/CD pipelines (Circle CI, Jenkins)
• Maintaining and helping troubleshoot production applications
• Enabling and helping development squads to deploy their own code
• Supporting DevSecOps in routine and new security initiatives
• Deploying legacy applications and supporting the migration to microservices

This is an advanced agile and technology-centred organisation that is constantly striving to improve standards and processes. The team is decentralised, with a high degree of autonomy within both DevOps and engineering.

Essential requirements

Candidates must have skills in the following:

• Terraform
• Kubernetes
• Docker
• Jenkins and CircleCi experience or experience with similar CI/CD platforms
• A good understanding of AWS. Key features include EKS, ElastiCache, RDS, EC2, SES, SNS, R53
• Experience with CentOS-based Linux
• A basic understanding of cloud security best practices
• Experience designing high-availability, reliable solutions
• Demonstrated commitment to self-learning and skills development

Desirable requirements

• A working understanding of Istio or service meshes
• Experience running microservices in production
