About the job ADP Lyric Implementation Consultant (Payroll/Core HR)
Role Summary:
Safebox LLC is seeking an experienced ADP Lyric Implementation Lead (hybrid, Redwood Shores, CA) to lead delivery workstreams for an ADP Lyric implementation. This is a build and launch role – not a maintenance assignment. This person will own configuration, data readiness, testing, and go-live support, operating with minimal direction, while driving tasks to closure.
Key Responsibilities:
Run discovery workshops and translate business requirements into ADP Lyric configuration decisions.
Configure ADP Lyric modules including multi-state Payroll and Core HR.
Coordinate integrations with Benefits, Time & Attendance, Talent, GL/ERP systems, vendor platforms, and API connections.
Own data readiness including data mapping, validation, conversion reconciliation, and issue resolution.
Develop and execute testing strategies including unit testing, integration testing, UAT, and parallel payroll runs and reconciliation (must have prior ownership experience).
Manage defect triage and resolution with ADP professional services and internal stakeholders; track issues to closure with documented resolution and retest evidence.
Support cutover, go-live, and hypercare, to include cutover checklist, cutover timing, and rollback planning, as well as hypercare support for two full pay periods post go-live.
Produce implementation documentation with audit-grade traceability of: configuration decision log, change log with approvals, test scripts and test evidence, integration specs and file layouts, access/role notes and control considerations, and handoff notes for steady-state operations.
Proactively surface risks, dependencies, and scope changes. Propose options and a recommendation.
Required Qualifications:
Recent, hands-on ADP Lyric implementation experience
Payroll implementation experience with multi-state requirements.
Proven experience owning parallel payroll testing and reconciliation.
Strong data mapping and conversion validation experience (earnings, deductions, taxes, jurisdictions, org structures).
Integration coordination experience (SFTP/file-based feeds; working knowledge of APIs is a plus).
Ability to explain how you handled Lyric configuration for org structures, workflows, and business rules (clear examples required).
Strong written communication. You maintain decision logs, issue logs, and weekly status updates.
Self-motivated - ability to drive work to closure without being managed day to day.
Preferred Qualifications:
Pre-IPO, high-change environments (requirements shift; timelines compress).
SOX readiness exposure (controls mindset, evidence, approvals, traceability).
Experience working through prime vendors / MSP programs.
Experience supporting Lyric-related touchpoints to Time & Attendance, Benefits, GL mapping, or downstream vendor feeds.
ADP certification, PMP, SHRM (nice to have).
Location: Redwood Shores, CA (Hybrid, 3-4 days per week onsite, with remote flexibility during steady configuration periods). Only local Bay Area candidates will be considered.
