General Summary 

Promotes workplace safety by providing a broad range of safety, health, risk management, and other loss prevention/training services, on a consulting basis, to NSCN employers and individuals.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Functions

1. Assist employers in the development and implementation of workplace safety and health programs.

2. Trains employers and/or employees on the principles of loss control and OSHA standards compliance.

3. Conducts and actively participates in meetings and seminars with the public to disseminate information regarding safety in the home and workplace, or any other subjects/issues that may be of concern.

4. Conducts worksite inspections and assessments to identify potential hazards; prepares inspection reports; recommends meaningful solutions to identified problems; and provides information to employers regarding safety standards and requirements.

5. Maintain DDC, FA/CPR, OSHA, or any other general safety instructor authorizations as allowed.

6. Regular, predictable attendance.

7. Abide by all policies and procedures of the National Safety Council, Nebraska.

8. All other duties as assigned.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Experience

· Bachelors Degree within Business/Industrial/Occupational Safety and Health or substantial work experience and training.

· Two years closely related experience.

· Working knowledge of applicable laws and regulations pertaining to safety and health.


Additional Qualifications

Must be articulate, with excellent oral and written communications. Must communicate effectively in English. Must be well organized, with the ability to prioritize and complete tasks in a timely manner. Must maintain a valid drivers license and automobile insurance.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to lift and carry class demonstration and presentation materials (up to 40lbs.), ability to sit or stand for long periods. Must be able to physically demonstrate all aspects of training in First Aid, CPR and AED classes.

Telephone, computer, fax machine

Description of Working Conditions

Fast paced office environment with frequent interruptions. Off-site training locations will vary.
