Graduate of an accredited Radiation Therapy program

Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)

Maintain current state Permit to Practice Radiation Therapy (or equivalent), including 24 hours of continuing education every two years

Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification
Job Description
General Summary:
The Radiation Therapist works under the supervision of the Radiation Therapy Manager and supports the Radiation Oncologist in simulation processes, administering prescribed radiation treatments, and monitoring patients progress and side effects. Regular attendance is required. Additional duties may be assigned.

Reports to Radiation Therapy Manager
No supervisory responsibilities
Key Responsibilities

Operate radiation therapy equipment and complete necessary warm-up and quality assurance procedures

Ensure equipment is maintained in excellent working condition through daily QA checks
-
Deliver prescribed radiation treatments and maintain detailed treatment records
-
Monitor patients for treatment progress and adverse effects
-
Adapt to varying workloads and shift schedules as needed
-
Maintain licensure and complete all mandatory training and meetings
-
Demonstrate strong organizational skills by following through on tasks and prioritizing effectively

Perform CT simulation procedures as required
-
Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
-
Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, clinical oncology, radiobiology, radiation physics, and radiation safety
-
Familiarity with radiotherapy treatment delivery, including basic dosimetry and isodose planning
-
Understanding of CT simulation procedures
-
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
-
Basic computer literacy and experience with radiation oncology software
-
Effective verbal and written communication skills

Customer service orientation
Education

Graduation from an accredited Radiation Therapy program required
Experience

Preferred: Two years of experience as a radiation therapist
