Salary: R40,000 – R50,000 per month (depending on experience)

Job Overview:

A well-established retail organisation based in the Western Cape is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Accountant to join their Head Office finance team. This role is ideal for a candidate with approximately 5 years accounting experience who thrives in a fast-paced retail environment and is confident managing full-function accounting responsibilities.

The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance, and operational financial control within the business.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review monthly management accounts

• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and general ledger reconciliations

• Manage journal entries and month-end closing processes

• Assist with budgeting and forecasting

• Ensure VAT compliance and statutory submissions

• Support audit preparation and liaise with external auditors

• Monitor cash flow and assist with financial analysis

• Maintain financial records in line with internal controls and company policies

• Assist with process improvements within the finance department

Minimum Requirements (Non-Negotiable):

• BCom Degree in Accounting / Finance

• Minimum 5 years accounting experience

• Experience within retail or FMCG environment advantageous

• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting

• Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel

• High attention to detail and strong analytical skills

• Able to work independently and meet strict deadlines
