WERE HIRING: FOOD TECHNOLOGIST (HACCP OFFICER – ABATTOIR)

A well-established meat abattoir supplying major retail chains is looking for an experienced Food Technologist (HACCP Officer) to take full ownership of food safety systems, compliance, and on-site quality governance.

This is a senior, hands-on role requiring strong HACCP leadership and daily presence on the production floor.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as HACCP Officer and HACCP Team Leader

  • Manage and oversee the Senior Supervisor QC

  • Ensure food safety and quality compliance in line with HACCP, FSSC 22000 and the Meat Safety Act

  • Maintain and control all HACCP documentation and records

  • Lead and document HACCP, TACCP, VACCP and Halaal team meetings

  • Conduct internal GMP audits and support third-party audits

  • Perform Gemba walks and follow up corrective actions

  • Oversee microbiological sampling, trending and follow-ups

  • Ensure equipment calibration and record accuracy

  • Act as Pest Control Officer

  • Manage training, inductions, and train-the-trainer requirements

  • Authority to stop production, reject non-conforming product and raise NCRs

Requirements

  • Diploma or Degree in Food Science / Food Technology / Agricultural Science

  • External FSSC 22000 certification (non-negotiable)

  • 2–5 years experience in food manufacturing, preferably abattoir / meat processing

  • Strong HACCP system ownership and audit leadership

  • Comfortable spending ±70% of the day on the production floor

  • Confident, assertive, solutions-focused

  • Own transport and willingness to travel or relocate
