Product Specialist (Electronic Safety Systems – Mining)

Location: Head Office
Reporting to: Lead Product Specialist

The Product Specialist is responsible for providing deep technical knowledge of the companys products and supporting both internal teams and customers. The role bridges engineering, sales, product development, and customer support, ensuring products are correctly implemented, tested, and improved based on feedback from the field.

The role also includes technical audits, inspections, and compliance verification of engineering specifications on client installations, as well as assisting with testing new hardware/software and product demonstrations.

Package

• Basic Salary: R32,500

• Monthly Commission: R7,000

• Cell Allowance: R1,850

• Medical Aid: 50% company contribution

• Retirement Fund:

Minimum Requirements (Must-Have)

Education

• Bachelors Degree in:

  • Electronics Engineering OR

  • Electrical Engineering
    OR

• Red Seal Electrical Trade Test

Experience

Minimum 3 years in:

• Product management or

• Technical support or similar role

• Mining support or field services environment

Technical Knowledge

Experience working with:

• Electronic systems

• Safety equipment

• PDS / CAS technology (Proximity Detection Systems)

Other Requirements

• Valid drivers licence

• Coding experience advantageous

The Product Specialist will:

Technical Support

• Provide product knowledge and support to internal teams and customers

• Train Sales, Support teams, and customers

Product Development

• Participate in product development, testing, and improvements

• Assist with coding tasks for product development

Customer & Market Engagement

• Conduct customer demonstrations

• Perform site audits and compliance checks

• Support marketing with technical content

Engineering / Technical Work

• Perform product verification and testing

• Maintain engineering specifications

• Support field technicians with training

• Document testing results and feedback

• Complete DFMEA (Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) for new products
