Role: Business Analyst – Insurance (Claims Specialist)

ROLE PURPOSE

Our client, an international organisation with a strong presence in South Africa, is seeking a Business Analyst specialising in Insurance Claims.

This role is fully office-based or on-site at client premises. It is not a hybrid or remote position.

The successful candidate will analyse, optimise, and enhance end-to-end claims processes, working closely with operations, IT, and stakeholders to drive efficiency and system improvements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Analyse end-to-end insurance claims lifecycle (FNOL to settlement)

  • Conduct stakeholder workshops and requirements gathering sessions

  • Document BRDs, FRDs, user stories, and functional specifications

  • Perform gap analysis and process mapping (BPMN preferred)

  • Identify claims process inefficiencies and recommend improvements

  • Support system enhancements and claims platform upgrades

  • Coordinate and facilitate UAT

  • Perform data analysis related to claims performance and leakage

  • Ensure compliance alignment (FAIS, POPIA, regulatory requirements)

REQUIREMENTS

  • 2–7 years experience as a Business Analyst

  • Proven experience in Insurance (short-term preferred)

  • Strong Claims process knowledge (essential)

  • Experience working with claims systems (Guidewire, TIA, Duck Creek or similar advantageous)

  • Strong documentation and stakeholder engagement skills

  • Experience with Agile or structured project environments

  • Must be comfortable working full-time in office or at client site

PREFERRED

  • Business Analysis certification

  • SQL or data analysis exposure

  • Process optimisation experience
