Job Overview

Our client, a leading global consulting firm, is seeking an experienced Sourcing Specialist (Manager level) to join their Procurement Excellence team. This role is ideal for a commercially driven professional with strong sourcing, supplier management, and stakeholder engagement experience within the mining or heavy industry sector.

You will be responsible for managing end-to-end sourcing projects, driving procurement best practices, and delivering strategic value across multiple engagements.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage sourcing projects from requirements identification through to contract award and supplier onboarding
• Lead end-to-end tender processes, including evaluations, negotiations, and supplier selection
• Conduct market analysis and supplier benchmarking to identify optimal sourcing strategies
• Build and maintain strong supplier relationships across multiple commodity categories
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders (finance, operations, technical teams) to deliver integrated solutions
• Monitor supplier performance and manage contract lifecycle activities
• Drive procurement transformation initiatives and process improvements
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies and governance standards
• Prepare reports and provide insights on procurement performance and cost-saving opportunities

Minimum Requirements

• Minimum 7+ years' experience in procurement, sourcing, or commercial roles
• Strong experience in contract management and supplier relationship management
• Proven experience in corporate or consulting environments
• Exposure to mining or industrial sectors is highly advantageous

Qualifications

• Degree in Supply Chain, Procurement, Finance, or related field (NQF 7)
• CIPS qualification (completed or in progress) advantageous

Technical & Core Skills

• Experience with sourcing tools such as SAP Ariba or Coupa
• Strong commercial and market knowledge
• Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills
• Advanced analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
