Salary: R23,000 – R25,000 per month (negotiable depending on experience; higher for exceptional candidates)
Job Overview
A well-established retail group in KZN is seeking an experienced Butchery Manager to take full responsibility for managing the butchery department. The successful candidate will oversee daily operations, ensure profitability, maintain hygiene standards, and manage staff performance while delivering excellent customer service.
Minimum Requirements

Minimum 3–5 years experience as a Butchery Manager or Senior Butchery Supervisor

Strong retail butchery experience (non-negotiable)

Proven experience managing staff and departmental performance

Knowledge of stock control, GP management, and shrinkage control

Understanding of food safety and hygiene regulations

Ability to work retail hours, including weekends

Based in KZN (Margate / Shelly Beach area) or willing to relocate
Key Duties & Responsibilities

Manage daily operations of the butchery department

Supervise and lead butchery staff
-
Ensure correct cutting, preparation, and display of meat products

Monitor stock levels, ordering, and stock rotation

Control waste, shrinkage, and gross profit margins
-
Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards

Deliver excellent customer service and maintain department presentation

Drive sales and implement promotional activities
