A leading organisation in the healthcare sector is looking to appoint a highly senior Data Scientist with deep Databricks expertise to join their growing Data Science and Analytics function.

This is a specialist, senior technical role and will suit someone who is hands-on, highly experienced, and comfortable working on complex, enterprise-scale data platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build and optimise advanced data science solutions using Databricks

• Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines and machine learning models

• Work with large, complex datasets across cloud-based platforms

• Collaborate closely with business, analytics and engineering stakeholders

• Translate complex business problems into data-driven solutions

• Mentor and provide technical guidance to less senior team members where required

• Ensure best practices around data governance, performance and security

Key Requirements

• Extensive senior-level experience as a Data Scientist (this is not a mid-level role)

• Strong, hands-on Databricks experience (non-negotiable)

• Advanced Python and SQL skills

• Experience working with big data, cloud platforms and distributed computing

• Proven experience delivering production-ready data science solutions

• Strong problem-solving and communication skills

Additional Information

• The role is based in Sandton, however the team currently works remotely

• South African candidates may work remotely if based in another region

• Salary is negotiable and aligned to seniority and technical depth

• Looking to appoint in June / July, but early applications are encouraged
