Senior Bridge Engineer

Position Overview

Saunders Staffing Agency is looking for a technically expert Senior Structural / Bridge Engineer to lead transportation infrastructure projects. This role involves high-level design, project leadership, and ensuring quality engineering solutions for bridge and structural systems across Illinois.

Key Responsibilities

• Design Leadership: Lead structural design for bridges, culverts, and retaining walls using steel and various concrete systems (cast-in-place, precast, and prestressed).
• Project Management: Manage scopes, schedules, and budgets to ensure successful delivery and client satisfaction.
• Quality Control: Oversight of shop drawing reviews and internal quality procedures for all team deliverables.
• Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams and regulatory agencies to maintain project standards.
• Business Growth: Support client relationship management and identify new business opportunities.

Qualifications

• Licensure: Licensed Structural Engineer (S.E.) in Illinois is required.
• Education: Bachelor's in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master's preferred).
• Experience: 8+ years in bridge design, including substructures, superstructures, and load ratings.
• Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with Illinois DOT standards, AASHTO LRFD, and MicroStation.
• Leadership: Experience supervising engineering staff or leading technical design teams.
