About the job NICU Speech Language Pathologist

The Speech Therapist provides high-quality, patient-centered care by developing and conducting individualized therapy programs for patients with communication, cognitive, and/or swallowing impairments. As a member of the health care team, the Speech Therapist performs comprehensive patient assessments and establishes appropriate treatment goals. The Speech Therapist serves as an educator to patients, families, students, and colleagues.

Job Responsibilities

  • You will conduct a subjective assessment of the assigned patient's speech-language abilities during spontaneous conversation. You will administer objective tests to assess the patient's communication assets and liabilities.
  • You will structure and implement an individualized patient program to improve communication capabilities.
  • You will evaluate the patient regularly during treatment and adjust the program as needed to maximize patient progress.
  • You will document progress in the patient's chart. You will complete notes, charges, discharge notes, and patient communication.
  • You will consult with the Program Director and Rehab Physician/Medical Director regarding pre-screen assessments and physician consultations to determine the appropriate placement of potential patients.

What qualifications you will need:

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • Speech Pathologist
  • Bachelors Degree
  • NICU experience required
  • MUST HAVE AT LEAST 1 YR OF SLP NICU EXP

SHIFT: Full-time Days (Rotating Weekends)

Compensation: $36.62- $40.82- $48.93 based on years of exp
