Job Summary: 

  • Provides direct patient care by assisting the surgeon in achieving desired surgical outcomes.
  • Aids perioperative team by scrubbing and caring for the patient before, during, and after surgical intervention.
  • Position title; Surgical Tech
  •  Reporting structure; New hire > Charge > Shift Coordinator > Manager > Director
  • Types of diagnoses and patients cared for in the unit; Complex cardiovascular conditions: CABG, Dissections, Cardiogenic Shock, Heart & Lung Transplants, Valve Replacements, Ventricular Assist Device Insertions, Complex TAVR; Artificial Heart Transplantation; Device/Assessment management: ECMO, Impella, Balloon pump, Vasopressor management & titration, Rapid Transfusion, Open chest defibrillation.
  • Work hours and on-call hours required; 12, 10, or 9-hour shifts, days/evenings with on-call
  • Number of beds in unit/unit size; 4 CVOR first starts/2-3 cases per day to follow/planned expansion to 5th Flip room.
  •  Clinician/patient ratio; 1:1 

Requirements: 

  • Minimum of 1 year previous experience
  • Educational, certification, and/or licensure requirements; BLS
  • Experience as Surgical Scrub or CVOR preferred
  • CST certification needed
  •  Educational, certification, and/or licensure requirements; BLS, Experience as Surgical Scrub or CVOR preferred

Salary and shift differential pay; Regular $21.73-$33.69 & Certified $24.42 to $37.85




Package Details

  • Relocation fee and applicable details; Up to $10K for relocation
  • $20k retention package to these employees for a two-year commitment. 5K in first check, 5K at the end of 1 year. 10k at the end of year two.
