Core Purpose of the Role

The Account Manager is responsible for leading the day-to-day delivery of client projects, ensuring work is delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. This role serves as the primary liaison between clients and internal teams, driving operational excellence while maintaining strong client relationships and identifying opportunities for account growth.

Key Responsibilities

Client & Project Management

  • Manage multiple client projects simultaneously from briefing through to final delivery.
  • Own project timelines, budgets, scope, and deliverables.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients throughout project execution.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term client relationships.
  • Coordinate internal creative, strategy, production, and operational teams to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Schedule and facilitate regular client meetings, status updates, and project reviews.
  • Proactively identify project risks and implement solutions before issues arise.
  • Manage client feedback, revisions, and change requests in accordance with internal processes.
  • Monitor the overall health and performance of client accounts.
  • Identify opportunities to grow existing accounts through additional services or projects.
  • Support senior leadership with the management of strategic or key client relationships.

Commercial & Financial Management

  • Monitor project budgets, profitability, and financial performance.
  • Track project estimates, purchase orders, quotations, and invoicing.
  • Assist with monthly revenue forecasting and pipeline reporting.
  • Ensure projects remain within approved budgets while maintaining profitability.
  • Work closely with the Finance team to ensure accurate billing, revenue recognition, and timely collections.
  • Monitor account performance against revenue targets and budgets.

Brief Management

  • Receive and manage incoming project briefs from clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Review briefs for completeness, feasibility, and commercial viability.
  • Clarify project objectives where necessary before work begins.
  • Translate client requirements into clear, structured briefs for internal teams.
  • Ensure only complete and approved briefs enter the production workflow.

Workflow & Project Coordination

  • Manage projects through internal workflow and project management systems.
  • Coordinate resources across multiple departments.
  • Monitor project schedules and turnaround times.
  • Identify and resolve workflow bottlenecks.
  • Ensure work progresses efficiently through all production stages.
  • Communicate project status proactively to both clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Ensure project commitments and delivery deadlines are realistic and consistently achieved.

Scope & Quality Control

  • Monitor project scope and prevent scope creep.
  • Manage project budgets, costing, and change requests.
  • Ensure all work meets quality standards before client delivery.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation and reporting.
  • Support continuous improvement of project management processes and workflows.

Competencies Required

Qualifications & Experience

  • Qualification in Project Management, Marketing, Business, Operations, Communications, or a related field is advantageous.
  • Minimum 5–7 years' experience in an account management, project management, client services, marketing, agency, creative, production, or related environment.
  • Proven experience managing multiple projects and cross-functional teams.
  • Experience working within fast-paced, deadline-driven environments.

Technical Skills

  • Strong project management and workflow coordination skills.
  • Excellent understanding of creative, marketing, branding, production, or operational processes.
  • Financial acumen with experience managing project budgets and costing.
  • Experience using project management and workflow platforms.
  • Strong Microsoft Office and reporting skills.
