Duties & Responsibilities:
- Evaluate technical assessments and resource studies of a potential renewable energy projects during its due diligence stage.
- Provide support in developing technical inputs for financial modeling of potential projects.
- Provide technical support for new business opportunities, performance related issue analysis, and engineering optimization.
- Coordinate cross-functional international teams and external advisors to deliver comprehensive technical analyses, risk assessments, and valuation insights, including identifying upside opportunities.
- Identify all permits, and licenses required for renewable energy projects, and develop Permit Plan and timelines, outlining required documents, responsible authorities, and obtainment timelines.
- Lead the technical review and approval process of all technical documents at project development stage, including Detailed Engineering Design, technical studies reports etc.
- Manages contracts and vendor performances in relations to the technical operations function.
- Review EPC scope of work, technical specifications, and Bill of Quantities (BoQ) for completeness and accuracy.
- Liaise with EPC contractor in developing Detailed Environmental Management Plan and other required documents, and monitor implementation of approved guidance documents.
- Directs the engineering administrative function, including the maintenance of engineering records and development of forecasts for the engineering operations budget.
- Manage, prioritize, and resolve on timely basis all PV Fleet activities and issues that may impact the overall plant performance.
- Perform energy yield assessment of solar or renewable projects, including estimating system losses and energy uncertainty, and annual energy production over projects lifetime.
- Plans, organizes, and controls the operation of the various functions of the Solar Power Plant and other renewable energy operations.
- Plan the overall of personnel, equipment, and materials to meet the requirements of the solar/renewable energy plant.
- Directs the proper operation, monitors for repair and maintenance of the Solar Power Plant and other plant utilities and energy conservation and environment.
- Preparation and management of the capital and operating budget of the solar/renewable power plant.
- Plans procurement and controls usage of the operation supplies of the solar/renewable energy plant.
- Ensures that all contractual obligations for power plants including laws, ordinances and contract performance are met.
- Provide operation reports to management.
- Responsible for power plant performance evaluation and technical services support on power plant activities.
- Coordinate and perform full scale EPC test for new renewable energy power plant.
- Manage and supervise contractors including EPC during construction phase and onsite operators during operation phase.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor or Master's Degree in Engineering (Electrical or Civil Engineering) or any related fields
- At least 2 years experience in Solar project management
- At least 3-5 years experience in Project management and/or Construction operations
- Experience and understanding of Solar Projects
- Previous experience in using solar projects modeling tool would be considered of advantage (e.g. PVSyst, etc.)
- ABCEP PV Installation professional certification preferred
- Solid understanding of Project management process
- Ability to travel upcountry, regionally or abroad, depending on project location
- Strong sense of leadership, interpersonal skills and drive for results
- Proven ability to coach & manage teams, and the courage to manage people constructively
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills
- Able to communicate in English. Good command of English (writing and speaking)
- Professional Engineer Licenses or above will be considered an advantage
- Able to drive a car, a valid driver's license
