Procurement Sourcing Specialist

Role purpose:

Specialist Procurement Sourcing role will be responsible for developing and executing commercial strategies, tenders and awards, supporting the business in delivering its plans and sourcing projects for Rio Tinto Mongolia.
This role is a great opportunity for an experienced contracts and procurement professional who has effective stakeholder management capabilities with project experience and good commercial acumen. The role will be closely working with Global Procurement team within the global guidance and in line with the local compliance requirements.

What you'll do:

- Supporting key business projects for Rio Tinto Mongolia
- Preparing Request for Proposals and Tenders, leading the commercial negotiations, tender management, evaluations, preparation of recommendations to award and drafting of contracts
- Contract management, progress meetings with suppliers
- Working closely with stakeholders and the commercial legal team
- Fulfilling purchase requisitions in accordance with the business objectives in respect to cost, timing, HSE controls, governance, and quality of service
- Implementing commercial strategies appropriate to the market
- Providing rigorous execution of commercial contracts
- Collecting and generating information on market opportunities
- Presenting and providing analysis on value drivers
- Completing the procurement procedures, deploying agreed methodologies, documentation, and governance protocols
- Collaborating with stakeholders in delivering the business plan
- Ensuring all projects are successfully delivered using the Ariba platform and meeting Rio Tintos compliance requirements

Location: Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia
Employment type: 6+6 months

Requirements:

- A degree in Business, Finance, Engineering or related discipline
- Strong written and verbal communications skills in English and Mongolian
- Experience in all phases of the contract lifecycle (strategy, tender, negotiate, award, contract management) demonstrated through past experiences in related project procurement roles
- Strong influencing, stakeholder engagement and change management capabilities
- Experience in developing commercial strategies and business recommendation
