Responsible for researching and developing coating materials and coating technologies for paper, paper packaging, and plastic packaging to meet SCGP business and customer needs. The role covers laboratory research, pilot-scale development, industrial implementation, and product validation while supporting sustainable and recyclable packaging innovations.
Job Description
- Conduct research and development of coating materials and coating technologies for paper, film, paper packaging, and plastic packaging to meet product performance and customer requirements.
- Develop environmentally friendly coating solutions that improve the recyclability of paper and plastic packaging while complying with international regulations and market requirements.
- Collaborate with product development, manufacturing, and customer teams to develop and optimize coating solutions from laboratory to commercial production.
- Improve packaging quality and coating performance to enhance product functionality and customer satisfaction.
- Evaluate coating materials, technologies, and manufacturing processes through laboratory testing, pilot trials, and industrial-scale implementation.
- Monitor emerging coating technologies, new materials, sustainability trends, and regulatory developments to identify innovation opportunities.
- Prepare technical reports, research documentation, presentations, and publications for internal and external stakeholders.
- Support cross-functional R&D projects and contribute to the commercialization of new packaging technologies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. degree in Paper Science, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Polymer Science, Materials Science, Packaging Technology, or related fields. (Bachelor GPA > 2.70, Master GPA > 3.30)
- At least 2 years of experience in coating technology, coating process development, packaging R&D, or related fields.
- Knowledge of Chemistry, Coating Technology, Polymer Science, Papermaking Technology, Packaging Technology, and Statistics.
- Experience in laboratory research, pilot trials, and industrial-scale product development is preferred.
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, creativity, and project management capability.
- Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work independently as well as collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
- Good command of English in verbal and written communication (TOEIC > 600).
- Willing to work onsite at SCG Packaging Public Company Limited (Ratchaburi) and travel to other domestic or international locations as assigned.
