About the job Executive Business Manager, Manchester Cluster- United Learning

Are you looking for a senior, strategic leadership role in which you can make a difference? Do you want to work for an organisation that cares about your professional development and wellbeing; a group that is ambitious and passionate? If so, then this Executive Business Manager role, may be the role for you.

United Learning was founded in the late Victorian period as a group of independent schools at a time when there were few educational opportunities for girls and young women. We became one of the first academy sponsors 20 years ago and remain unique in comprising both a significant number of independent schools and a large group of academies covering the length of England. As we have grown, we continuously develop to stay true to our values and to keep succeeding to bring out the best in everyone. It is an exciting organisation to work for; there is a real focus on developing people and an empowering culture where staff are appreciated and celebrated.

This role, reporting directly to the Regional Director involves establishing, and delivering a high quality and efficient business support service to three high performing Schools within our Manchester secondary Cluster. The services provided to the schools include Finance, Human Resources, and Technology and this role is vital in ensuring that these operational functions are efficiently managed through the provision of strategic and effective leadership.

The role has a dotted line report to the Director of Finance Academies with opportunities to work on group level initiatives and with Executive Business Managers from across the Group.

You will split your working week between the three Schools with the option of working from home for part of the week. We are open to requests for flexible or part-time working; and we encourage open and regular conversations about work-life balance. There are a range of benefits including an attractive salary, 6 weeks of annual leave, membership of the Local Government Pension Scheme, membership of private healthcare option with BUPA, and access to flexible rewards.

We are committed to fairness, diversity and inclusion and as such, would particularly welcome applications from Black, Asian and minority ethnic candidates, who are currently under-represented at the most senior levels in the Group. We always appoint on merit.
