About the job Polytechnic Internship Programme (Poly-INSPIRE)
The INSPIRE is the internship programme by the Singapore College of Insurance for the Insurance Industry. Partnering with insurance companies across Singapore, the INSPIRE will look to welcome a fresh group of students to an array of internship opportunities that are tailored for polytechnic students and university undergraduates.
Through INSPIRE, young talents will have the chance to explore career paths within the dynamic world of insurance through internships.
The INSPIRE will recruit for both specialist (e.g. claims, underwriting) and generalist (e.g. marketing, legal) roles for participating host companies from the insurance and related industries. There will be a diversified range of host companies including direct insurers (life and general), insurance brokers, reinsurers, and loss adjusting firms.
Interns undergo a structured programme with clear training objectives provided by their mentors and host companies. SCI administrators closely monitor interns feedback and progress via a mid-internship review.

Structure
The INSPIRE will comprise of a 12week internship during the summer vacation. These will include a 2day SCI Launchpad, a 2day Certificate in General Insurance certification the following week. Insurance workshops/touchpoints will be greatly reduced for the University track. This will allow undergraduates to focus more on their internships and to gain more exposure in the industry.
Interns will be offered various roles across the industry. Interns may expect exciting role such as
- Undewrwriting
- Broking
- Loss Adjusting
- Reinsurance
- Analyst
- Generalist (HR/Finance/Compliance)
Note: There are no sales/agency roles in the INSPIRE internship. Interns will not be requested or hired to do any sales role relating to insurance, nor will any interns be remunerated through "commissions" or requested to meet a quota every month. All roles of the above are mid-office or back-office corporate roles.
