Job Purpose: Support brokers to facilitate and negotiate credit risk insurance policies for our commercial and investment banking clients and major corporates across Asia Pacific, driving the growth of our business in the region and globally. Upon completion of the internship, conversion to a Graduate / Junior Broker (Full Time employment) will be considered for good performers subject to HR employment checks and other requirements (including requisite qualifications by Singapore College of Insurance which can take 1-2 months).

The candidate will report to the Managing Director for the following responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities / Duties

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support a Broker Team to improve the broking protocol and processes.
  • Support brokers who actively engage with clients including commercial lenders, investment banks, and institutions to place credit insurance on single-asset or portfolio exposures.
  • Support brokers to draft policy documentation, handle policy execution, and manage policy maintenance, including premium adjustments and amendments.
  • Where applicable, support claims processing from initial submission through loss adjustment and recovery efforts.
  • Foster face-to-face interactions with clients and underwriters at meetings and conferences.
  • Maintain high internal reporting standards to the Singapore office and the wider Texel Group.
  • Ensure compliance with legislation, regulations, and internal policies.
  • Assist in developing colleagues' skills and ensure ongoing professional development and licensing requirements are met.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Masters Degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Accounting or a related field.
  • Prior experience in credit and political risk insurance broking, underwriting, or banking, with direct exposure to structured finance preferred.
  • Strong knowledge and interest of international finance, financial instruments and credit and political risk insurance products.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English. Other languages will be advantageous.
  • Proficiency in negotiation, risk analysis, and stakeholder relationship development.
  • Excellent time management, organisational, and communication skills with a creative and analytical mindset.
  • Effective team player who ensures the success of the team and meeting wider organisational goals.
  • A commitment to diversity and fostering an inclusive team environment.
  • Proficiency in standard office software and presentation tools.
