GIFT Portal – Terms & Conditions

1. Introduction
1.1 These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of the GIFT Portal (the “Portal”) by Singapore College of Insurance (referred to as “SCI”, “we”, “us” or “our”).
1.2 By registering, submitting your resume, or otherwise using the Portal, you agree to be bound by these Terms (and any policies referred to herein).
1.3 If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not access or use the Portal.

2. Use of Portal / Eligibility
2.1 You represent and warrant that:
 (a) you are legally capable of entering into binding contracts;
 (b) all information you submit is true, accurate, complete, and up to date;
 (c) you will notify us of any changes to the information submitted.
2.2 You may use the Portal only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms.
2.3 We may refuse or restrict access, or remove your submissions, at our sole discretion (for instance, if information is false or any terms and conditions has been breached).

3. Submission of Resume / Application Documents
3.1 By submitting your resume, CV, cover letter or any other documents (collectively, “Application Materials”), you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide right and deemed consent to store, process, review, distribute (within SCI and partner organisations) and otherwise use those materials for recruitment, matching, evaluation, and related administrative purposes.
3.2 You warrant that all copyright, intellectual property, permissions or consents necessary for us to use those materials have been validly obtained.
3.3 We may reject, modify, or remove Application Materials at our discretion (e.g. if they contain prohibited content, defamatory content, or violate laws or third-party rights).

4. Use of the Portal / Services
4.1 The Portal may offer additional features (e.g. resume matching, alerts, candidate profiling). Use of these features is subject to any additional rules or instructions displayed or notified to you.
4.2 We may modify or discontinue parts (or whole) of the Portal, temporarily or permanently, for maintenance, upgrades or other reasons, with or without notice.

5. Prohibited Conduct
You agree NOT to:

• Use the Portal in any manner that is unlawful, fraudulent, or harmful;
• Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity;
• Upload viruses, corrupted files, or malicious data;
• Interfere with the operation or security of the Portal;
• Scrape, harvest, or collect data from the Portal in bulk without permission;
• Engage in any conduct that may harm SCI’s reputation or operations.

6. Intellectual Property
6.1 All intellectual property rights in the Portal, including software, design, layout, code, logos and content, remain with SCI (or its licensors).
6.2 You do not acquire any ownership rights in the Portal or its content, except for the limited rights granted under these Terms.

7. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability
7.1 The Portal and its services are provided “as is” and “as available”. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access.
7.2 To the fullest extent permitted by law, SCI disclaims all warranties, whether express or implied (including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement).
7.3 SCI is not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special or punitive losses (including loss of data, reputational harm, lost opportunities).

8. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify SCI, its affiliates, officers, employees and agents from and against all claims, liabilities, losses, damages, costs or expenses (including legal fees) arising from or relating to (i) your breach of these Terms, (ii) your misuse of the Portal, or your Application Materials.

9. Privacy and Data Protection
Your submission of personal data via the Portal is governed by our SCI Privacy Policy. You agree that we may process your personal data in accordance with our Policy.

10. Links to Third-Party Sites
The Portal may contain links to other websites or resources. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy or practices of those third parties. Links do not imply endorsement.

11. Suspension, Termination, and Account Closure
11.1 We may suspend or terminate your access to the Portal (in whole or in part) at any time and for any reason.
11.2 On termination, your rights under these Terms cease, but provisions intended to survive (e.g. indemnities, limitations, intellectual property) will continue.

12. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Singapore. You agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Singapore courts for any disputes arising hereunder (unless otherwise required by law).

13. Changes to Terms
We may revise these Terms from time to time. By continuing to use the Portal after changes are posted, you accept the updated Terms.

14. Miscellaneous
14.1 If any provision is invalid or unenforceable, the remainder of these Terms remains in full force.
14.2 No waiver by us of any breach shall be deemed a waiver of any subsequent breach.
14.3 You may not assign your rights or obligations under these Terms without our prior written consent; we may assign anytime.
