About the job Technical Superintendent

Monitor and maintain hull, machinery, and cargo systems performance.
Plan, execute, and control dry docking, repairs, and maintenance activities.
Enforce Planned Maintenance System (PMS) with full compliance and zero backlog.
Conduct vessel inspections and resolve technical deficiencies promptly.
Ensure compliance with International Maritime Organization regulations, including MARPOL, SOLAS, and ISM Code.
Prepare and manage audits, surveys, and vetting inspections (SIRE/CDI).
Close audit findings with effective corrective actions.
Control technical budgets (OPEX/CAPEX) and ensure cost efficiency.
Monitor and optimize spending on repairs, spare parts, and services.
Manage procurement of technical materials and vendor performance.
Coordinate with Master, Chief Engineer, and shore-based teams on technical matters.
Provide technical guidance and support to vessel crews.
Respond to breakdowns, emergencies, and off-hire risks quickly and effectively.
Ensure safe operation of cargo systems, including pumps, pipelines, COW, and IGS.
Minimize risk of equipment failure and oil pollution incidents.
Investigate technical incidents and implement preventive measures.
Qualification :
Bachelor's Degree in Marine Engineering, Nautical Science, or Naval Architecture.
Strong working knowledge of tanker regulations under International Maritime Organization, including MARPOL, SOLAS, and ISM Code.
Solid experience in dry docking, shipyard repair, and technical project management.
Strong understanding of Planned Maintenance Systems (PMS) and fleet management software.
Demonstrated ability in budget control, cost optimization, and vendor management.
High capability in technical troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and emergency response.
Strong leadership and communication skills; able to direct Masters and Chief Engineers effectively.
Fluent in English (written and spoken) for technical reporting and international coordination.
