Environmental Laboratory Inorganic Chemist – Metals

Our client is seeking a skilled Environmental Laboratory Inorganic Chemist with experience in testing for Metals to join our team in National City, CA. In this role, you'll work with advanced instrumentation and proven EPA methodologies to analyze environmental samples that directly impact public health, safety, and environmental protection.

What You'll Do

  • Perform physical and chemical testing of environmental samples
  • Operate ICP, Mercury Analyzers, and other advanced laboratory instrumentation
  • Conduct sample preparation, digestion, and extraction using EPA methods (8270, 8260, 8081, 8082, 8015, and others)
  • Review and validate analytical data to ensure compliance with method and QA/QC standards
  • Maintain legally defensible documentation and chain of custody records
  • Receive and log samples, generate reports, and manage laboratory inventory
  • Work within federal, state, and internal quality assurance programs
  • Support audit readiness (AIHA/ELAP familiarity a plus)

What You Bring

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or related science
  • Minimum 24 semester hours of college chemistry (official transcripts required)
  • At least 2 years of relevant laboratory experience
  • Hands-on experience with ICP and/or Mercury Analyzers
  • Experience with LIMS systems, sample receipt, and analysis
