Temporary Onsite Human Resources Coordinator

Our Escondido-based client is seeking a detail-oriented and people-focused Temporary Human Resources Coordinator (HRC) to support our HR team during a critical period.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced HR professional who enjoys jumping in, making an immediate impact, and keeping operations running smoothly. In this role, you'll serve as the first point of contact for HR-related inquiries while supporting key functions such as recruiting, onboarding, employee records, and payroll coordination.

You'll work closely with our leadership team to ensure continuity, accuracy, and a positive employee experience.

What You'll Do

Core Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first point of contact for HR-related questions from employees and external partners
  • Support recruitment efforts, including job postings, candidate sourcing, and interview coordination
  • Review applications and assist in evaluating candidate qualifications
  • Conduct reference checks and assist with employment offers and agreements
  • Coordinate and support new hire onboarding and orientation processes
  • Maintain accurate employee records in HR systems and physical files
  • Assist with employee terminations and related documentation
  • Support benefits administration, including enrollments and updates
  • Maintain internal databases such as time-off tracking and employee records
  • Partner with Payroll by providing updates on employee status, pay changes, and leave information

Additional Responsibilities

  • Prepare reports and documentation related to HR activities
  • Support company events and help foster a positive employee experience
  • Participate in special HR projects and process improvements
  • Act as a company ambassador and culture champion
  • Maintain high levels of accuracy, timeliness, and confidentiality
  • Identify opportunities to improve HR processes and systems
  • Provide backup support when the HR Supervisor is unavailable
  • Attend departmental meetings and contribute to team initiatives

What You Bring

Minimum Qualifications

  • Higher Education is preferred
  • 4+ years of HR experience preferred
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
  • PHR, SHRM, or similar certification preferred
  • Experience in the construction industry HR is a plus
  • Strong knowledge of California employment laws

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Adobe, and HRIS systems
  • Familiarity with Sage accounting system preferred

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines

  • Rate: $27-29/hr W2
