Great food isn't just made—it's led. We're looking for a Kitchen Shift Lead in Encinitas who thrives in the heat of the kitchen, leads by example, and takes pride in delivering consistently high-quality dishes.
This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll be working the line while guiding the team, ensuring every plate that leaves the kitchen meets the highest standards.
What You'll Own
- Lead and direct kitchen staff during shifts while working a station
- Train team members on cooking techniques, food safety, and sanitation
- Prepare and execute menu items with consistency and precision
- Support complex cooking tasks, including sautéing and finishing dishes
- Assist with inventory, stock rotation, and ordering supplies
- Monitor deliveries and ensure product quality and accuracy
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment
- Enforce food safety standards and proper equipment use
- Ensure all dishes meet quality, presentation, and consistency standards
- Check cooler temps and maintain proper food storage practices
- Collaborate with front-of-house and management to keep service running smoothly
- Contribute to improving systems, recipes, and kitchen efficiency

- Pizza or Italian cuisine experience is a plus
- Valid food safety certifications (or ability to obtain)
Schedule Expectations
- Availability for weekend evenings and holidays is required
