About the job Teacher Aide (Choa Chu Kang/Tengah)
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, organise and set up Science teaching resources, apparatus and materials for lessons and activities.
- Assist teachers during Science lessons by distributing resources and supporting students where required.
- Maintain and organise resources in the Science Laboratory and MakerSpace.
- Support Science programmes, competitions and school events, including setup, dismantling and storage of materials.
- Provide logistical and administrative support to other departments when required.
- Assist with preparing, cutting, laminating and organising teaching materials.
- Provide ad-hoc support at the library and General Office, including reception and answering phone calls.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum GCE O-Level or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a primary school Science room is preferred.
- Able to work independently, multitask and meet deadlines.
- Good teamwork and interpersonal skills.
- Comfortable with physical tasks such as lifting, carrying and setting up equipment.
- Pleasant personality with a positive work attitude.
Duration/Working hours:
16 months contract (Option to extend another year) (Sep 2026 to Dec 2027)
Lunch break: 1 hour unpaid
Paid working hours: 7 hours per day
Overtime: Any additional hours will be compensated by Time Off in Lieu (TOIL), subject to the candidate's prior agreement.
No service required: Saturdays, Sundays, gazetted public holidays, and June & December school holidays.
June & December school holidays: Candidate will be placed on unpaid leave; no salary or leave entitlement will accrue during this period.
December school preparation: School may request the candidate to return during the last week of December, subject to mutual agreement and compensation for days worked.
