About the job Discipline Support Officer (Marymount)
Seeking a Discipline Support Officer to support student management and restorative discipline efforts within the school.
Key Responsibilities

Assist with preliminary investigations, fact-finding interviews, and incident reporting

Supervise recess, lunch, and detention sessions (Monday to Thursday)

Maintain attendance and behavioural records

Support restorative practices, reflection, and re-entry activities

Provide structured supervision for students under in-house suspension

Conduct campus supervision during high-movement periods

Support proactive discipline strategies and basic peer mediation where appropriate
The DSO will report operationally to the Student Management Committee. Deployment will follow the school timetable and termly events.
Requirements

Minimum 10 years experience in a uniformed service background (e.g. Police, Prison Service, or equivalent)

Experience in youth-related case investigation and behavioural or restorative support preferred

Strong conflict management, communication, and documentation skills

Calm, firm, and respectful approach when working with students

High level of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality

Alignment with care-based and restorative discipline values
Duration/Working hours:
12 months contract (Option to extend another year) (Mar 26 to Feb 27)
Mondays to Thursdays: 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, inclusive of 0.5hr
break with 6.5 working hours
Service not required on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, gazetted
public holidays and school holidays (eg Youth Day)
Service required during school terms only.
