Pastoral Care Officer (Teck Whye)
About the job Pastoral Care Officer (Teck Whye)
Job Description:
- Provide one-on-one befriending and mentoring support to high-needs students.
- Support student case management, engagement and follow-up with students and parents.
- Maintain case records and monitor student progress.
- Provide social-emotional, behavioural and motivational support.
- Monitor homework completion and encourage positive behaviour.
- Facilitate simple physical activities to promote student well-being.
- Support school events, student discipline and school programmes.
- Liaise with teachers and relevant school personnel on student concerns and interventions.
- Perform general administrative duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Minimum Diploma in Counselling, Psychology, Social Work, Education or related field.
- Experience in youth work, student support or social services preferred.
- School environment experience is an advantage.
- First Aid, crisis de-escalation or Mental Health First Aid certification is advantageous.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Salary commensurate with qualifications and relevant experience
Duration/Working hours:
1 year contract (Option to extend another year) Oct 2026 to Sep 2027
Mondays to Thursdays: 7:30am to 4:30pm, inclusive of 1hr lunch
break
Fridays: 7:30am to 4pm, inclusive of 1hr lunch break
Service not required on Saturdays, Sundays and gazetted public
holidays
Note: Working hours may be adjusted based on the school's
requirements. However, the total number of working hours per day/week
will remain unchanged.
